How to SAVE MONEY on Teachers Pay Teachers
3:00 AM
Teachers Pay Teachers is a treasure trove of classroom
activities, curriculum resources, freebies, and fun stuff. Most teachers I know
have a mile long TPT wishlist filled with coveted activities and ideas. Here
are some tips on how to save money and get more with TPT:
1. Buy in Bulk.
Many sellers on TPT offer resources bundled together at a discounted price. Most sellers discount their bundle sets by 15% or 20%... or more! Before buying, always check to see if your resource is available in a bundle to get the best bang for your buck.
2. Leave Feedback and Get Free Stuff.
Did you know that you earn credits towards free TPT resources every time you leave feedback on a paid purchase? I was shocked when I realized how many teachers didn’t know about this! Leaving feedback is easy and takes about 10 seconds to do.
You earn 1 credit for every dollar you spend and TPT rounds
UP to the next dollar. So if you spent $9.05 and left feedback, you just earned
10 credits, easy peasy. You can even go back and leave feedback on every
purchase you’ve ever made on TPT and watch those credits
add up. Enjoy your free resources!
3. Take Advantage of Site -Wide Sales.
A few times a year, Teachers Pay Teachers hosts site wide
sales during which they provide a promo code for 5% off your total purchase.
Most active sellers participate in these sales and discount their resources by
an additional 20%... which gives you savings of 25%! These sales are a great
time to grab up those resources you’ve been coveting on your wishlist.
4. Get the Group Discount.
If you’re buying a resource for your whole department or
just more than one user, don’t go broke paying full price for each license. TPT
offers multiple
licenses at 10% discount off the total price… and you can apply that to
sales and discounts too!
5. Follow Your Favorite Sellers.
Some sellers participate in hashtag sales, dollar deals, and giveaways in addition to the site- wide sales. The best way to stay in the loop for all of these deals is to follow your favorite sellers on social media in addition to TPT. By following sellers, you’ll get first dibs on all of their freebies and new resources. Some sellers even discount their resources for the first 48 hours. If you’re following them, you won’t miss those flash deals… Bonus!
And while we’re on this topic, make sure to follow Exceptional Thinkers for my new resources, deals, and freebies!
6. TPT for Schools
If you’re hesitant to shell out your own cash for curriculum
materials, see if your department will foot the bill. Teachers Pay Teachers has
a new program called TPT for
Schools, which now makes it easier for teachers and administrators to work
together to purchase classroom resources on TPT. You can even register your
school for free. Learn more
about it here.
